Barbara A. Assendelft

att-barbara-assendelftMs. Assendelft, born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and raised in East Detroit, Michigan received an Associate of Arts degree with High Honors from Macomb County Community College in 1980, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University in 1982, and the degree of Juris Doctor cum laude from Detroit College of Law in 1986. She served as Note and Comment Editor and Managing Editor of Business and Production of the Detroit College of Law Review. After law school, Ms. Assendelft worked as a Research Attorney for the Michigan Court of Appeals in Grand Rapids, a Judicial Law Clerk to Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Harold Hood in Detroit, and a Judicial Law Clerk to Michigan Supreme Court Justice Robert P. Griffin in Traverse City.

Ms. Assendelft is admitted to practice in all state courts and the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, and is an appointed panel member of the State of Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission. She is an adjunct professor at Northwestern Michigan College, in Traverse City.
